The TCE system is a flexible, powerful way to collect APR-specific data in addition to the regular end of term overall data. Additional TCE data can be formatted to be used in conjunction with other UA enterprise data such as retention, teaching load, and a variety of student, faculty and course variables. Consultation on planning analyses using TCE data is available from OIA-TCE. However, we strongly recommend that requests for consultation and/or analysis services in this area be submitted well in advance of need.
A number of self-help features for this purpose are currently in development that will support the most common requests and depending on complexity of custom requests for data or analysis, some services are available on a cost recovery basis only.
TCE reports, data, and consultation services are available to academic units that wish to include them in for summative or formative course and/or program evaluation. For example, many units report overall TCEs are part of their documentation of teaching effectiveness and/or student satisfaction in accreditation self-studies and for 5 year Academic Program Reviews.
With advance planning, colleges and departments can add special questions for this purpose for a single term in all or part of the current course offerings. Units can request special questions for long term use as well.
For program development and planning purposes, new reporting formats and views of the data at the course level are available to academic unit administrators to compare course offerings over time.
